About

I experienced the need to maintain a face down position personally.  I suddenly had a retinal detachment and one-day notice before surgery.  The doctor informed me that I would have to remain face down position for one week.  The medical staff provided me with printed material about the procedure and a page of suppliers for face down support systems.

I made the phone and Internet rounds of medical equipment providers locally and nothing was available.  My problem, to ship in from an outside source would take three to five days.  I would have to rent for a one-week minimum.  Then the equipment would arrive halfway through my need and be paying for the chair after my need was over.  The frugal person I am I decided to tough-it-out.  I spent face down position by improvising.

By the fifth day, to put it mildly, I was very sore in several parts of my body.   My chin and forehead was chaffed and painful.  I am a retired RN and could not imagine how someone with macular problems could maintain a face down position for two weeks without the external support equipment.  We found a great need and so Albuquerque Support Systems was started. After developing and learning by trial and error, and five years working the business, I have turned Albuquerque Support Systems over to new owners, Tomas and Kathy Griego.

Tomas and Kathy are widely experienced in the technical and business world.  Tomas has learned face down positioning the hard way.  He had five tears and a detachment.  He personally use the equipment for his recovery.  After learning the equipment and training with clients, Face Down Comfort Systems was created and ready to personally service your needs. No matter how much training, each client is unique and we personally deliver and set up equipment.

We serve New Mexico, the surrounding areas of southern Colorado and eastern Arizona, and the greater San Antonio, Texas area.
